Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information AxioStats (“we”, “our”, “the service”) collects when you use the website at https://axiostats.com and its subpages, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

We designed AxioStats as a server-side rendered, static-first product: pages are generated at build time, and no page-load phone-home happens on the public pages. In plain terms, simply reading an article or a dataset transmits only what your browser and network inherently transmit.

1. What we collect

1.1 Data you provide voluntarily

AxioStats is currently a public, read-only service with no account system. If you email us ([email protected]) or send feedback, we keep the correspondence only as long as needed to answer it.

1.2 Data collected automatically

  • Server logs. Like virtually every web host, our servers may record standard request data: IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp and HTTP status. Logs are used for security, abuse prevention and diagnostics, and are not used to build a profile of you.
  • Theme and language preferences. Your color-theme and any client-side preferences are stored in your own browser (localStorage), never sent to our servers.
  • Interactive features. The crowdsourced “Vox” poll widgets on the site store votes locally in your browser (demonstration mode). We do not receive those votes.

1.3 Embedded third-party services

Dataset pages let you embed charts or fetch the same data from a static JSON API. No third-party analytics, advertising or social trackers are loaded on our pages. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

2. Why we process data (legal bases)

Where data protection law applies (e.g. the EU GDPR, UK GDPR), we process the limited data described above on the following bases:

Purpose Legal basis
Serving pages and delivering the service Performance of the contract / legitimate interest in operating the service
Security and abuse prevention Legitimate interest in protecting the service and its users
Answering your correspondence Consent, or legitimate interest in responding to enquiries
Complying with legal obligations Legal obligation

3. Where data is stored and who has access

  • Hosting: the site is served from static infrastructure; no database of site visitors is maintained by AxioStats.
  • Processors: we use standard hosting and infrastructure providers. Where they process data on our behalf, they act as processors under our instructions.
  • International transfers: if data is transferred outside your country or the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) or on adequacy decisions where available.

4. How long we keep data

Server logs are retained only as long as operationally necessary (typically no more than a few weeks). Correspondence is kept only while the matter it concerns is open. When we publish datasets, the underlying snapshots and their provenance (source, retrieval date) are kept as long as the dataset is published.

5. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Rectify inaccurate data;
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”);
  • Restrict or object to processing;
  • Data portability;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
  • Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the EU/EEA, the authority of your country of residence).

Because we do not maintain visitor accounts or profiles, most of these rights will rarely be exercisable in practice — there is usually nothing attributable to you to access or delete. To exercise any right, contact us at the address below.

6. Children

AxioStats is a general-audience data service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the higher age set by local law where applicable). If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by a notice on the site.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to [email protected] with the subject “Privacy”.
